Closure notice
Rice Boat at 37 Newnham Road Cambridge closed its doors for the final time after service on Saturday 6 December 2025.
This has been a poignant decision which has been in the making for a while now. It did not fully solidify till a short time ago.
The reason for choosing the 6 December is because the restaurant opened on the 5 December 2005 and we hung on to achieve the milestone of completing 20 years of offering Kerala cuisine to the city of Cambridge.

Thank you for your custom, your friendships, your support over the years, it is greatly treasured. We hope we have given you something in return, in your memories, in your lives.
Rice Boat will continue after this restaurant closes. What form that will take is not decided as yet. First, we need a break, an exhale after 20 years of constant effort.
